Coral Park Elementary was feeling crowded from the traffic at the parent drop-off, and the classrooms had overflowed into “portables” – temporary classroom units. RAI was brought onto this school project where they assessed these challenges and identified opportunities for effective built contributions. To improve the flow of student arrivals every morning, RAI extended the parent drop off area which dramatically improved traffic at and around the school. In order to provide stations for an additional 216 student stations, new classrooms and learning labs were built based on successful RAI prototype designs. Additionally, connective covered walkways and an outdoor covered shelter were designed and built. By the end of the project, RAI had successfully created a permanent solution for the students and revitalized the campus once again into a vibrant center for learning.
