Miguel A. Rodriguez

FAIA, Principal

Miguel A. Rodriguez, FAIA is a broadly experienced architect with over 35 years in the profession. He is licensed in the State of Florida and three other states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). As firm principal he directly overseas administration, client relations and marketing and is also directly in charge of and participates on each firm project overseeing the activities of the Project Manager and participating in all phases of project development.

As a former licensed general contractor, Mr. Rodriguez has “hands-on” construction experience and knows what it takes to get a project built. Under his leadership, the firm has successfully completed several design-build projects where it was the prime member of the project team. He is also a recognized expert in the American with Disabilities Act, the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction, the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards and the Fair Housing Act and has given expert testimony on behalf of various clients with respect to the removal of architectural barriers. In addition to the ADA, Mr. Rodriguez is also an expert, on professional practice issues, standard of care issues, the Florida Architectural Practice Act and the Florida Building Code, as well as on Continuing Education for professionals. Miguel is an Adjunct member of the Faculty at the University of Miami, School of Architecture, teaching Professional Practice and has previously taught Construction Documents at the University of Miami and Professional Practice at Florida International University. He has also delivered continuing education courses on the AIA documents, the Florida Building Code, the ADA and the Fair Housing Act to fellow professionals and Building Officials around the State of Florida.

His active involvement with professional issues over the past 26 years builds on his expertise and has placed Mr. Rodriguez in a position of leadership not only statewide but also nationally. He is recognized by colleagues for his contributions to the profession on both levels and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects; a recognition of professional excellence which honors those model architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.

Lourdes Rodriguez

AIA, Principal

Lourdes Rodriguez, AIA is an experienced architect with over 33 years of practice locally. As firm President and Principal she is involved with client relations and marketing and directly oversees the firm’s Education and Public Agency portfolios.

Mrs. Rodriguez has extensive experience with Public Agencies on both continuing services and single project specific agreements, including considerable work with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade County Public Housing and Community Development and the Cities of Miami and Miami Beach with whom she has directly worked on a variety of projects over the span of at least 10 years. Her areas of expertise include educational design, the State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), the Florida Building Code and Accessibility.

Her primary responsibility is the administration of the firm’s Public Sector Projects and more exclusively Educational Projects. Since 1990, she has been managing or co-managing projects for various South Florida Educational and Governmental Agencies. She has participated in all aspects of the design and construction phases and has developed a keen sense for practicing in a pro-active role in helping lead the project team through the construction process.

As with other firm leaders, Lourdes is active with the American Institute of Architects, has led the local chapter’s Women in Architecture program and is a mentor to young professionals. She is also an active participant in the Committee on Architecture for Education (national) and Committee on Education (local). Through participation and interaction with industry professionals, she maintains the level of knowledge required to practice in today’s diverse and changing environment.

Antonio Moreno

Senior Project Manager

Mr. Moreno is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Design and holds over 20 years experience in the architecture design field. His experience includes both domestic and international projects comprised of a variety of building types including large and small scale developments. He is highly skilled in architectural project delivery from design development to construction documents to construction administration.

Mr. Moreno is experienced in highly sensitive government projects requiring special security clearance; such as United States Embassy designs in Peru, and the development of the new Federal courthouse in Washington D.C. Additionally Mr. Moreno has been successful in delivering technically demanding projects including a number of Health Clinics developed for Humana and Doctor’s Medical Center in Miami, Florida.

In the Educational field Mr. Moreno been involved in the development and management of a number of school projects containing state-of-the-art Science and Biotechnology Labs.

David Shewairy

Senior Project Manager

David M. Shewairy began his architectural career in 1994 at Rodriguez Architects, Inc. After leaving the firm in 2009, David returned in 2020 and has once again taken an active role in all projects, including project management and workflow/production. He has participated in all phases of project development and will also be responsible for project deliverables. In total, David possesses over 25 years of design and project management experience in South Florida.

Felicia Salazar

RA Project Manager

Ms. Salazar has over thirty-five years of experience in the field of Architecture and Construction Administration. She has been involved in numerous public projects from planning to construction administration, including schools, colleges, public housing, airport extensions, conference/assembly centers, law enforcement, correctional and government facilities, and historic preservation/restoration. Her experience also encompasses projects in the private sector, including hospitality, restaurants, low to high rise residential, and office facilities. Ms. Salazar’s strong sense of commitment and diligence in all her assigned duties are reflected in her professional and community services work.
