The neighborhood surrounding the airbase had grown and the demand for an Elementary school to be converted into a K-8 Center had become clear. RAI was proud to serve Miami-Dade County Public Schools in meeting this demand! Doing so meant evaluating the school board’s project goals, which included adding classrooms, administrative offices, learning labs, basketball courts, and a new art and music building. RAI designed a series of solutions that successfully met these goals and effectively hosted the growing student population while integrating the new construction into the existing campus. A relocated parent drop-off, new main entry and new covered walkways improved student and faculty navigation throughout the school. An outdoor dining pavilion, art and science labs, and collaboration spaces served to improve the student experience. As a newly converted campus, Airbase K-8 is proudly serving its growing community.
