Experience is critical when deciding how much space an educational facility will require, where to find it, and how to organize it. West Homestead Elementary depended on RAI to provide that very expertise from the early programming stages of the project. This allowed RAI and Construction Manager, MCM Construction, to deliver solutions that would successfully convert this elementary school into a K-8 Center. From the start, they recognized existing buildings that school originally scheduled for removal, as valuable assets and successfully renovated them into new classrooms. Appropriately locating newly constructed classrooms and a new administration wing meant shifting the main school entrance and Student Drop-Off area. By the completion of construction, RAI saved valuable classroom space, constructed the appropriate additions, and met the school’s spatial requirements. By approaching this project with the right experience, West Homestead K-8 was able to expand to accommodate 216 new students as a cohesive school campus with a fresh new look and feel!
