The 156-room hotel in the City of Dania Beach and serving the Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International airport was designed to serve business and cruise ship passengers from the nearby Port of Ft. Lauderdale.  The prototypical Residence Inn room design worked well for guests expected to stay a bit longer than usual, but RAI had to expand the brand’s traditional program for public spaces to handle the larger peak loads of cruise ship guests which tend to arrive and depart in larger, simultaneous groupings than normal hotel operations.
The site includes a larger “Gatehouse” which includes a Lounge, Breakfast/Dining Room with a limited service Kitchen, an Outdoor Kitchen and Exterior Lounge areas immediately adjacent and outside of the Lobby spaces.  Site amenities also include a large pool with sport courts, support facilities and gym, all of which are centered around the primary public Lobby spaces.  The four-story building encompasses an area of 140,000 SF.  The building was designed adhering to Marriot standard room layouts and design standards.
